Meteorite Dig
An Opportunity of a Lifetime

On December 7th, Mrs. Ferguson and a few of her middle school students had the opportunity to dig up a rare Breham Meteorite, located east of Greensburg, Kansas approximately 6' to 8' into the Earth.  The meteorite weight 155 pounds, and was a stony-iron, pallasite-type which is the rarest of the 3 types.
The specimen will be on display at the Kansas Meteorite Museum and Nature Center, located midway between Haviland and Greensburg.  The museum is owned and operated by Dr. Don Stimpson and his wife Dr. Shelia Knepper.
